#DidYouKnow there are approximately 6,600 garage fires in the United States every year, according to the U.S. Fire Administration. The number of garage fires increases during winter months, and are often related to electrical issues or improper storage of flammable liquids. Before winter hits, follow these easy steps to reduce risk of garage fire and keep your home safe.
1. Clean and organize garage to remove clutter.
2. Store any flammable liquids out of reach of children and pets, and never store large quantities at a time. Store propane tanks outdoors rather than in your garage or other part of your home.
3. Check light bulbs to make sure you are using the proper wattage for any light fixtures.
4. Unplug extension cords and electrical appliances when not in use, and replace any that show signs of damage.
5. Make sure you have a firewall separating your garage from the house. The door between an attached garage and the house should also be fire rated.

#DidYouKnow the average in-home water pressure is about 40 to 45 pounds per square inch (PSI), but there are many homes that suffer from low water pressure. If you regularly experience low water pressure, here are a few common causes to look out for, and what to do about them.
1. Avoid running multiple plumbing fixtures such as shower, dishwasher, and clothes washer at the same time.
2. Clean screens and aerators on faucets to remove clogs and residue buildup.
3. Check water valves to make sure they are open and haven't been completely or partially closed by mistake.
4. Run your hand over pipes and look for signs of water damage to check for potential leaks. If you find signs of leaks contact a professional plumber.
5. Consider having a Sewer Scope Inspection to check sewer lines for blockages and damage, which can build up over time and result in clogs and even sewage backup.

Its not every day that Bullwinkle joins you on a commercial inspection (Rocky was nowhere to be found) ... and he even gave me a big, furry hug!
Thoroughly enjoyed a few days at the "snow cabin" near Stevens Pass with 6 of the grandkids and their families ... idyllic winter wonderland, lots of sledding and a quick trip to Leavenworth.
