Now’s the time for all animal-lovers to show us their compassion because October 4 is World Animal Day. Animals can’t talk in the conventional way that humans communicate with each other. But there’s one day where we can all give a voice to the animals who can’t speak for themselves. On October 4, people spanning the globe will come together to celebrate World Animal Day. In any corner of the planet, no matter which country you explore, animals will consistently have a strong impact on the region’s culture. Check out more info on how to get involved on the World Animal Day website.
Pets come in all shapes and sizes, but sometimes sizes get a little out of hand. That’s why on October 14 we recognize National Pet Obesity Day to remind people to keep their pets healthy. When your pooch starts getting a little plump, you know it’s time for a few things . More walks, less table scraps, and perhaps even an additional visit to the vet to make sure they’re still healthy. While a rotund Rover can be a cute or funny sight, that extra layer for lovin’ can have some serious consequences. Thanks to National Pet Obesity Day, we can now all learn more about this problem among our beloved pets. Ask one of our veterinarians how to help manage you pets' weight or check out these great tips at https://nationaltoday.com/national-pet-obesity-day NATIONALTODAY.COM NATIONAL PET OBESITY DAY - October 14, 2020 | National Today

While we have had deer in the vet clinic on purpose, I don’t think they were ready for it at the nursing home! Nice capture, WPD! Wausau Police Department March 23 at 11:05 PM · Officers Karlen, Pfaff and Pacey had to wrangle a wild animal the other night after a deer crashed through a window into local nursing home. Although the deer appeared to have sustained a couple of small cuts from the glass, the officers were able to successfully get her back to her natural habitat without any further harm. Seeing as how Officer Karlen led a previous life as an elite football athlete, we'll give the nod to UW-Stevens Point Football and the Alouettes de Montréal for helping him be ready to "tackle" this call!
