This week Attorney Stacy Wolf was scheduled to defend a client charged with multiple felony theft related charges at a jury trial. That trial did not happen because she was able to present important information to the prosecution that ultimately convinced the district attorney to withdraw the charges and not to seek more than $5,000.00 in restitution. Some of the best outcomes occur outside of the courtroom. This one protects the client from not only the financial sting, but also from having a serious criminal record which would have had significant consequences in many aspects of the client's life. Congratulations to Attorney Wolf and her client on a fantastic result!

Congratulations to Attorney Stacy Wolf for securing a not guilty verdict for a client in the Court of Common Pleas of Cumberland County accused of violating a protection from abuse order by contacting the plaintiff. The defendant maintained his innocence and the judge conducted a bench trial today.
The Judge found the defendant "not guilty" based on the arguments of Attorney Wolf. Well done!
This week, Attorney Nathan Wolf sought and obtained a temporary injunction for his clients in Mt. Joy Township, Adams County preventing a hearing from occurring on Monday June 1. That hearing would have been limited to 25 attendees, and would have excluded his 40 clients from attending the hearing in person. The Court agreed that the harm of proceeding under these circumstances outweighed any harm from delaying the hearing until the parties could be present. This was a novel issue that arose as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions related to public gatherings and the intersection of those restrictions with statutory guidelines for townships to hear development applications. But in the end due process and public safety concerns won out.

Our firm's case involving opposition to the use of agricultural land for development of an industrial scale power plant within 3 miles of the Gettysburg battlefields is discussed in the story shared by Todd McCauslin below. Our client group opposes the use of farmland for solar versus finding other locations like parking structures or large distribution center rooftops to locate panels.
