Most of you probably have some other little ones (or big ones) in your life that you are responsible for. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I use a home calendar station so my family knows what is happening that month, week, and day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Monthly Calendar 🗓 At top of wall on command center. Put birthdays/ holidays or family trips. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Weekly Calendar ✏️ List the activities for the week. 🎹 Piano lesson or Baseball practice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Easier to do weekly since sometimes there is an exception to the monthly schedule. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✏️ List who is responsible for kids at what time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Kids know who they will be with and our village of helpers knows who is coming/going at what time. This eliminates texts/calls interrupting your day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Daily Calendar 📋 Each kid has their own clipboard with their dally chores (am and pm). If there is an extra task for a particular day we add a post it to that kid’s clipboard. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📋 Best Part- you don’t have to redo these every day, slip in a plastic sleeve and reuse until its time to add or remove a specific chore from the list. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📋 This makes the kids responsible for their ongoing, daily tasks without me having to ask if they have done a specific chore yet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ THESE HOME CALENDARS DON’T: 🚫Include your personal to do list 🚫Include your events. Don’t suffer alone is some powerful language. My first pregnancy was also my first miscarriage. I didn’t personally know anyone who had a miscarriage at that time. As soon as I shared my sadness and grief, I quickly learned of the community of women (friends and family members) that had experienced a miscarriage. Sharing your story can help someone more than you could ever imagine. It’s vulnerable, it’s scary but it helps build community. What’s your guilty pleasure? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m obsessed with halloween. My kids will not remember the delicious meals I made (because I don’t), they won’t remember me playing dolls and LEGO’s with them all day long (because that’s torture to me). But they will remember that mom went all out for Halloween. And I’m good with that. It’s no coincidence that I’m packaging up these beauties today. Our “Just Chillin” puzzle and distanced love are some feelings I can get behind right now.
