Women's Healthcare of Princeton updated their info in the about section.
Systemic and pervasive disregard for Black women contributes to inadequate care and the numbers prove it. No one should ever wonder if their health and well-being are dependent upon the color of their skin OR their zip code. We must dismantle these practices that continue to plague us, and ensure optimal care for all.

Racial Disparity in Women's Health: another COVID effect
In honor of National Women's History Month, we would like to recognize a pioneer in women's health! If you’ve had a baby you likely know all about your baby’s Apgar score. Have you ever wondered where that came from?
Dr. Virginia Apgar designed and introduced the Apgar Score, the first standardized method for evaluating a newborn's transition to life outside the womb. A baby’s Apgar score is a way to measure their health at birth. APGAR stands for appearance, pulse, grimace, activity, and respiration, with the resulting score being between 0-10. The scoring system has helped save babies and revolutionized the way we approach labor and delivery. Thank you, Dr. Apgar!
Another fun fact about Dr. Apgar - she was also the first woman to become a full professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1949!
