#WonderfulRochester The City of Rochester has been named a 2020 All-America City by the National Civic League! The last time Rochester was awarded this title was in 1998.
The city earned this title by submitting three projects highlighting people in communities working to help each other.

A #WonderfulRochester story from our friends located right across the river from us, Beyond the Sanctuary! If you haven’t heard about this wonderful organization, they donate food along with other support to a lot of people in the Rochester area. A recent addition to their donations includes a regular supply of bread from Freihofer’s Bakery, courtesy of their manager Sue Anderson! Wonder Window’s thinks it’s so amazing that they are helping 225 families receive a loaf a week!

They have received $20 million dollars thanks to a donation from billionaire MacKenzie Scott. United Way says it will share updates as it plans how to spend this generous donation. Scott also made a donation to the Goodwill of Finger Lakes.

They have raised more than $2,000, all to fund a cross-country trip to spread the message of autism acceptance. Sam is an autistic man and is on a mission of "...changing the wording from autism awareness to autism acceptance.” Way to go Sam!

#WonderfulRochester As if the Bills going to the playoffs wasn’t enough to celebrate, Webster native Colin Dee is making it even better.🏈 To celebrate this accomplishment, he ran a marathon to raise money for Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo. The marathon took place during the Bills-Pats game, with the course being around Gillette Stadium. Since then, his campaign has more than tripled it’s goal of $1,000! #WonderfulRochester story! Rochester artist Carla Halstead decided last summer to not only fold 1,000 paper origami cranes, but also teach her students how to do it! The legend with paper cranes is that if you fold 1,000 of them, it grants you a wish and she wished for health and prosperity for Rochester.
