About Javier Sosa, MD
Javier Sosa, MD, a board-certified family medicine physician, brings nearly a decade of experience to his practice, Woodlands Primary Healthcare in The Woodlands, Texas. He treats everyday problems such as respiratory infections, ear infections, and back pain, while also offering comprehensive preventive examinations, well-child visits, women’s and men’s health care, chronic disease management, weight-loss management, aesthetic medicine, and in-office procedures.
Dr. Sosa earned his family medicine residency from the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He served as the Medical Director for Roosevelt General Clinic in Portales, as well as ED Medical Director at RGH Hospital In Portales, New Mexico, where he was voted as the Doctor of the Year in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
In addition to serving as an active member of the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Sosa has extensive training and certifications, including a diploma of aesthetic medicine, a fellow in metabolic and anti-aging medicine certification, advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification, pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification, advanced trauma life support (ATLS) and moderate sedation certifications.
When he’s not helping patients, Dr. Sosa’s hobbies include traveling, watching movies, working out, and riding horses. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Marcella, and their three children. His vision is to grow and help the community of providers to achieve excellent patient care.
