Dr. Yin Yiu is a board-certified otolaryngologist who specializes in the care of voice, airway, and swallowing disorders. She also maintains a practice taking care of patients with general ENT issues such as sinus disease, disorders of the thyroid and parotid glands, and neck masses.After growing up in Texas, she completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University before returning to Houston for her medical education and surgical internship at Baylor College of Medicine. She then pursued residency training in otolaryngology “ head & neck surgery with the highly-ranked ENT department at the Ohio State University. She completed a year of advanced fellowship training in laryngology (voice, swallowing, and airway disorders) in New York City through the Voice and Swallowing Institute at Columbia University Medical Center and the Sean Parker Institute for the Voice at Weill Cornell Medicine. She feels privileged to have had the unique experience of caring for high-level voice professionals and performers in New York and is eager to share that expertise with the community in her hometown of Houston.Dr. Yiu maintains broad clinical interests encompassing the breadth of laryngology and hopes to help care for patients with diverse voice, airway, and swallowing pathologies. She has published peer-reviewed research and presented nationally on a variety of topics including vocal fold atrophy, recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, airway stenosis, and thyroid cancer. She also has a passion for education and plans to maintain lifelong educational pursuits including the training of resident physicians and medical students alongside her clinical and research endeavors.
