Matt’s mission is to make yoga accessible, safe, and enjoyable for all. He uses his experiences with his uneasiness to start yoga in helping people find and grow their own practices. He completed his 200-hour training at Kripalu Center and credits his teachers at Kripalu, as well as those at Sunrise Yoga Center in Ithaca, NY, for his growth and personal style which he brings into his classes. Matt loves leading a powerful flow just as much as he enjoys gentle movement, static asana, breathing, and in helping students to sink into calming restorative poses. Matt has further training in guiding Yoga Nidra, history and philosophy of yoga, leading vinyasa, and recently completed a training geared toward helping men find a sustainable yoga practice.
Yoga isn’t necessarily about flexibility (but it sure helped with mine!). It can take many forms, completely based upon everyone’s unique reasons for wanting to practice yoga. Every reason is right. No one has to do anything they don’t want to. Matt’s yoga classes are approachable for everyone.
