Phone Consultation
Each client and dog I work with has a different set of circumstances that must be considered in order to provide the best advice and instruction. I usually start with a phone consultation with you to get a sense of what we are dealing with and the issues that need to be resolved. From there I can usually determine what options are best for within the budget you have and I will make my recommendations for training options. If I feel it is necessary to see your dog before I make any recommendations I offer free consults at my place in Granada Hills.
Ultimate Boarding & Training
If you are looking for the best of the best boarding and training programs, the most consistent training your dog can receive is in my personal home. By allowing me to control your dogs environment during his or her training program you will achieve the best results possible and I get a chance to see your dogs true personality once they settle in after about 10 days. Your dog will stay with me for up to 4 weeks during which time they learn the basic commands and become well behaved in the house and anywhere else you take them. The four week program will also train your dog to listen reliably off-leash and allows habits to begin forming for the easiest transition back to your home. This boarding and training program is more effective than any kennel board and train program for family dogs. Primarily because your dog is trained in an environment like what they will return to at home and secondly because of the calmer nature of a home environment versus a loud kennel environment dogs trained in my home are calmer than their kennel trained relatives. During the time your dog stays with me they will be given lots of love and cared for every minute of every day by myself and my wife and daughter just like our own dog. Space is limited and reservations are recommended if planning training for a particular time.
Private Training Lessons
Private lessons are conducted at your home or at my place with you and your dog working together. My initial lesson is a behaviour and training lesson that is 2 hours. This is generally enough time to get most families on track controlling there dog. With new puppies I offer a 3 lesson package that covers all the basic obedience commands, general manners, socialization and the usual puppy problems including housetraining, jumping up on people and furniture, biting, chewing and destructive behaviour, etc.. The frequency of the lessons is based on how young your puppy is when we begin but are generally held once every 1 to 3 weeks. Lessons are 1.5 hours each per lesson. My training is customized to focus on the things that are of particular importance to you. If you want to add off-leash obedience, and socializing and reliable listening anywhere you go with your dog including a local dog park, it usually takes a few more lessons to achieve this higher level of obedience in distracting locations. For this I level of listening offer an additional three 1 hour lessons at a dog park for off-leash reliability. Dogs with prior training of their commands can usually be trained off-leash in 3 lessons, taking them forward from where they are in their training.
