I am originally from South Africa. I opened my first salon at 21 years of age and operated it for successfully for 15 years, earning me business women of the year for the last three of those years!
Shorty after that, an opportunity presented itself, so I decided to move to the states and make a name for myself here. Of course as fate would have it, the state of Florida did not recognize any of my credentials. I had to start from scratch again. I attended a Florida approved school, called, The Total Hair Academy in which I graduated with top honors.
I then worked at one of the local shops Hair Market, and actually ended up managing the place with 15 stylists for approximately 6 years. After getting married to my wonderful husband, I decided it was time to upgrade salons and work more closely with people of my caliber.
I ended up moving to a more prestigious salon in downtown West Palm Beach called D Laudti's. It was in that environment that I became inspired to become a Board Certified Master Colorist. My favorite, my specialty! After a few years and lot of self introspection, I decided, that it was time for another upgrade!
I spent many hours looking for the perfect location to open my own shop when I came upon a wonderful place called Sola Salons. I call my new salon, Yvonne's Hair Studio.
I am blessed to have achieved a growing successful studio and take a lot of pride in my work, it not just about the hair its about the person in your chair!
