I found this chocolate shop by looking through Tripadvisor for places to go and shop while visiting the Ft. Myers area for the holidays. The store is easy to find but be mindful that the hours are only Monday -Friday from 9-12 p.m. I emailed the store to check to see that they would be open the day I planned to come (Christmas Eve) and they responded to my email very quickly. Who thinks of a Hurricane almost mid of November? Well, we live in SW Florida and Hurricane season is not over yet. ETA is going around us for days already, today was/is the worst day. It came very close, but it's not a direct hit. I really enjoyed these chocolates and they came un-melted and fine even in this California summer. I bought an assortment of 9 different kinds, Butter Carmel was the stand-out 10 of the bunch. During summer, we had a hard time dealing with US Postal Service, causing us to lose a lot of money.
But this time, we want to mention, how much we appreciate the people working at USPS. What we see are hard-working people, overwhelmed with the flood of mail and packages. Often poorly managed or heavily understaffed. We feel it with long lines, or incredible wait times, just to get our packages dropped off - or get a cart to unload our boxes with chocolate.
But the good news - the vast majority of our packages arrive well and now also in time. Little delays due to the holidays are known and - we believe - also acceptable. We just wanted to let those who read this, and work for the US Postal Service, know - that their work is appreciated! 💜 Because of what we see every day, these people working at the post office try hard to stay friendly and even show a smile through their masks (well we can see eyes smiling). My husband recently returned from a business trip in Austria with a bar of this AMAZING chocolate. I had to have MORE When I went on line to search for it I was so happy to see that they had a location in the US I ordered the chocolate but was a bit concerned about the condition in which it would arrive as it was being shipped out of HOT Florida to HOT west Texas so I sent an email stating my concerns along with my order. When it arrived it was wrapped in a sheet of what looked like material NASA would use AND a number of cold packs. It was 102 degrees here that day and the chocolate was PERFECT My favorite is the Mousse au Chocolat "Piura" 82 but the others I have tried are excellent as well. So when I saw your company carries marzipan with true European roots, I knew I'd have to try it. Day 3 of the cocoa world trip 🌎 - today we landed in #Panama 🇵🇦
The wonderful #Cocabo cocoa is traditionally cultivated by indigenous cocoa farmers away from the hustle and bustle of our time in the protection of the Panamanian rainforest and processed by us into a dark #Labooko chocolate with 72% cocoa content 🍫
This dark Panama creation has a subtle scent of dried fruits. In technical jargon, they would be called “cacaoté”.
Nevertheless, the strong chocolate aroma has a mild character. At the beginning, you will be surprised by a fresh mint note, which then merges into nougat notes and the previously announced chocolate focus. A gentle touch of cherry and notes of marzipan and almonds provide plenty of variety on the palate.

#Criollo is one of the best cocoa varieties in the world, unfortunately, it hardly exists anymore. An old cocoa variety has been preserved in #Peru, the fruits of which contain 30% of the legendary white criollo beans 🇵🇪 A fine cocoa blend that nature has mixed itself and thus preserved a jewel. This dark # Labooko chocolate contains 82% cocoa, which tastes amazingly mild 🍫

The cocoa is only gently roasted, this creates its fine biscuit scent, which is accompanied by gentle berry notes. First, very mild nutty notes unfold, which are then replaced by nougat(praline), sweet cream and lightly spiced cake biscuit. In the finale, there is a raisin tone, which is surrounded by subtle hints of grapes, lemon, and olives. After enjoying it, you can still feel nutty nuances and a slight tingling grapefruit touch for a long time.

This milk chocolate amazes because with around 70% cocoa it could play in the league of dark chocolates. Nevertheless, this creation tastes extremely gentle, hardly bitter, without any sour note. Instead, concise cocoa flavors with a slightly nutty taste dominate nuances of caramelized almonds with an intense cream and caramel character reminiscent of Dutch waffles. Everything accompanied by a fine melt that is created by pure cocoa butter.

Pssst....!! We just made a few bunnies available online. Yesterday, FedEx brought one box, today two. Still many boxes somewhere on their way! 3 weeks ago the whole batch was sold out within less than 24 hours.
This express import shipment is some kind of an experience! First, it was delayed because there was a strike in Belgium and the boxes had to go through Belgium. Then there was a communication issue between FedEx and FDA and the import was refused. So far this is resolved. Now we are dealing with single boxes showing up on a daily basis instead of all together at once. We hope we get all the remaining ones tomorrow! Fingers crossed.
