A quick tip about furniture warranties: it's important to make your claim as soon as you notice a problem. Many warranties require you report the claim within 7 days of the damaging incident.
Also, don't put off making a report because the damage "isn't that bad". 1) you paid for the warranty, there's no reason not to use it, 2) many warranties will not cover "accumulated damage", meaning damage that comes from multiple incidents over a period of time.
This isn't meant to say warranties are bad, just to help inform your decision making to get the best value for your money.

This was a relatively minor repair, but on a brand new bed frame. The footboard didn't fit snugly, leaving a bit of a gap in the corner. A couple adjustments later, we had a nice, snug fit. It saved the hassle of ordering/shipping/swapping to a new replacement piece. Not all repairs are for catastrophic failures.

Consumer tip: Furniture parts (everything from recliner mechanisms down to frame bolts) can often be specific to brands, or even series/designs within a brand. Unlike appliance parts, there are few readily available resources for matching and ordering some of these specific parts. If a part breaks, don't throw it out. Keep it, in place if possible, for your repair technician. It will often save them time, and ensure a more accurate fit, which can save you money.
