The use of a rubber dam during treatment is mandatory to avoid microbial contamination of the root canal system, limit aerosols, retract tissues, protect the patient from damage by chemicals, and prevent aspiration or swallowing of instruments and materials. One hundred percent of #endodontists use the rubber dam. In the era of #COVID-19 -- and always -- #demandthedam!
Two interesting cases from this morning! The first is #15 featuring an snake tongue apical split of the palatal root 🐍. The second is a retreatment of #3 where we found three canals in the mesiobuccal root (MB3)--five canals total. It is always such a pleasure getting to work with North Pointe Dental and Family Dentist Tree on these cases! We are so grateful to our referring dentists and patients who trust us with their care.

Boss Day was Friday, October 16th. Since we are not in the office on Friday's we decided to celebrate our amazing bosses today. We all truly can not express enough how lucky we feel to work for such amazing people. You both encourage all of us to be our best versions of ourselves and truly care about each of us as individuals. Thank you for everything you do for not only us but also for the dental community, and our patients! There isn't enough gifts and words that can express our gratitude. 🎉🦷😍👍
Healing is determined in the long term. We typically ask that patients return at no charge for us to evaluate healing at least a year after treatment. Here's one such example of a patient from our friends at Family Dentist Tree. This #18 is a second molar that was giving the patient a bad toothache last year prior to our helping her with root canal therapy using the #gentlewave. She was happy to confirm that the tooth has healed since treatment. Hopefully this treatment is successful for decades to come.
