AOS is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff. We have installed UV lights in all of our exam rooms. Natural convection, air from HVAC vents and human movement cause the air in the room to circulate. As air enters the disinfection zone, it is exposed to the UV light rays. This inactivates airborne viruses and bacteria in the air.
UV lights are very safe, they will not cause cancer or cataracts. They have been in use for over 50 years.

As we reflect on 2020, we all have a lot to be ungrateful for- wearing masks, missing vacations, altered graduations, kids online for school, missed sports, losing loved ones. As an optimist, I am grateful for the privilege to serve our community which has shown me that life can continue in the middle of a pandemic. I am grateful that people can be people and care for one another by demonstrating patience, humor, and resilience when visiting our office. I am grateful to our staff who rolled with the difficulty of being laid off when we could not see patients, but returned, putting themselves and family at risk when we could. I and the physicians at AOS wish everyone (patients and staff) who make our office a wonderful and rewarding place to work the warmest of holiday wishes and the hope of a brighter and more normal New Year!
