Are you missing a jacket? We have a ton of jackets that have been left her over the last few months. If one is yours please call the front desk to claim it! Anything left by the end of the day Friday, October 2nd, will be donated!
We are so proud of our little bakers this week!
Baking is the perfect activity to encourage sequencing, organization, frustration tolerance, team work, motor coordination, and so many more skills! We couldn’t be prouder of this little baker and her unicorn cake! 🦄
Happy #nationalptmonth - we couldn’t have a better PT crew at AFK!
Help us welcome Nate to the AFK Family! Nate grew up in Riverside, California, and received his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from California Baptist University, where he also worked as a personal trainer. He enjoyed learning more about how the human body works, but his true passion is working with kids and having fun with them while being a big kid himself, so he pursued becoming an occupational therapist at Loma Linda University. Nate loves backpacking in new countries, international mission trips, yoga, hiking and all things in the water! One of his dreams is to live in a camper van for awhile and visit all of the national parks in our beautiful country. He will miss the beaches and surfing in Southern California, but can't wait to experience all of the new outdoor adventures that Alaska has to offer!
Food art makes exploring less familiar foods fun! Miss Jaclyn and her friend learned about the properties and characteristics of different berries while creating a food fox! They explored how the berries felt, smelled, looked, and sounded. They worked on emotional regulation with less familiar foods while also working on attention, sequencing, fine motor coordination, and safety while cooking and using different kitchen tools.
