Dr. Ana Cornea, endocrinologist at Diagnostic Center, knew she wanted to be a physician ever since she was a little girl in Romania. She remained focused on that goal, making the choice in her early teens to leave the small village where her family lived, so she could attend a better school in the city of Baia-Mare. She attended medical school in Romania and came to the United States in 1995 with her husband Paul, who is also a physician.
After spending time in other parts of the country, the couple settled in Chattanooga in 2003 because of its family atmosphere and natural beauty. Dr. Cornea says that the best part of being a physician is working with people and helping them to get well.
In her leisure time, Dr. Cornea enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, riding bicycles on Signal Mountain, and reading.
