Life has been pretty chaotic the last couple weeks. Hundreds of people had to quickly evacuate their homes, many having to leave pets and livestock behind. Other's have made it into town, but the fear of an unfamiliar place caused the pet run off and get separated from their family. As rescue efforts up the McKenzie HWY continue the list of rescued animals grows.
The Oregon Department of Agriculture has set up a website to help reconnect animals to their owners. Click the link below to search for lost/found pets.
Greenhill Humane Society is our local shelter and they are facilitating efforts to reconnect lost pets with their owners. If you have a lost pet, or have found one, please contact them immediately. Additionally they are open for providing medical and boarding services to pets of displaced families. Anything from flea prevention to major medical problems. A month or so ago I did a feature on Pet Fire Safety and mentioned that I would be doing one on Pet First Aid and Emergency Evacuation/Preparedness. In light of the recent local fires, I wish I'd managed to get this posted sooner. But hopefully this will serve as inspiration for you to get one set up, so we can all be much better prepared for the next disaster (thanks 2020).

We have an amazing set of Certified Vet Techs (CVT) here at our clinic.
Josh initially started with us as a receptionist in the late 90s and worked his way up the ranks, and challenged the state boards to become certified. After a brief stint away, he realized his heart was with Animal Health Associates. In 2020 he was promoted to Hospital Administrator. Josh loves music and enjoys singing and performing. His wife, 2 boys and young dog keep him constantly on the move.
Mackenzie is our resident Cat Advocate assigned to keeping us on the registry of Cat Friendly Practices through the American Association of Feline Practitioners. She ensures that while your cat is here they have the best experience possible. Mackenzie has a full menagerie of pets at home. Her dog, cat, 3 bunnies, and 2 birds keep her life full of love, fluff and feathers!
Jeanette is our Wonder Woman. With her can-do attitude, and cheery smile on her face, she'll get the job done. Her compassion for the pets we see is endless. After work you'll find her, often with her young son, at the horse stalls working with their favorite horse "Willow", walking her Chihuahuas, or snuggling with her cat.
Andrew has a quiet confidence that cannot be denied. He is calm and cool under the pressures of CVT life. He'll often be found around the clinic sharing his vast knowledge and encouraging the growth of his teammates. A true weekend warrior, Andrew has spent the last year or so building a guest house on his property, and just finished it with fabulous results.
Our techs are here day in and day out and wish only the best for every pet they see.

Animal Health Associates has been a figure in Eugene's veterinary world since 1947. Dr. Niki Fadden has officially been with us for 2 years as of today. We have been so blessed to have her in our office.
Before joining us, she worked at a mixed animal facility on the southern coast. Her experience there taught her patience and how to remain calm and collected on even the craziest of days here.
She is so much fun to work with and she brightens up the whole office. Clients appreciate her cheerful manner, and ability to explain diagnoses and treatment plans with them in a clear and easy to understand way. And while the pandemic has made in-person interaction impossible, she is able to connect with owners over the phone and make them feel that personal bond.
Thanks Dr. Niki for making the last 2 years some of the best! We love you and look forward to many more years of working with you💗

Things are coming along, and hopefully with some of the bigger projects out of the way, it will move quickly from here on out.
The walls for the new exam room and client bathroom are insulated and and the drywall has been hung.
They finished laying the pipes for the new bathroom, and were able to fill in all the trenches. Monday they permanently retired the gangplanks!
They have now started laying the new luxury vinyl plank flooring! We are so excited about sleek and modern it will look!
