Anthony Lau, MD, PhD, FRCSC joined Northwell Health in 2017 as an attending neurosurgeon and Assistant Professor Neurosurgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
Dr. Lau received his medical education at Queen’s University and his PhD in traumatic brain injury at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Michael Tymianski. Dr. Lau subsequently completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Toronto, where he developed an interest in spinal surgery under Dr. Michael Fehlings. Following his residency, Dr. Lau completed a fellowship in neurological surgery at the University of Miami under the auspices of Dr. Michael Wang, Dr. Allan Levi and Dr. Barth Green.
Dr. Lau specializes in specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, adult spinal deformity, spinal trauma and cranial trauma. His an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, AO Spine, Canadian Medical Association, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and the Society for Neuroscience.
