Tuesday was full of fun here at Arbor Lakes Senior Living! We kicked it off with hot, fresh-cooked breakfast delivered right to the residents’ front doors. Later, with extra safety measures put in place and carefully followed, we held our first organized group activity in several months with bingo! Although the game may have been a little different to maintain social distancing, everyone loved the opportunity to join together for some fun!

This week we held a “craft and hobby” exhibit here at Arbor Lakes Senior Living. We filled our dining room with handmade items from our residents and staff, creating an INCREDIBLE display of their talents! The exhibit featured quilts, paintings, stained glass creations, fishing equipment, books, and many other fun, beautiful pieces. We have so much talent in our community, so we made sure to take lots of photos to share. Check it out!

Here are photos of the 4-H exhibit we held in our dining room as part of our Minnesota State Fair week. Several 4-H student members from Hennepin, Sherburne, and Carver counties dropped off their projects for us to enjoy for the week. We also had photo printouts of projects completed by other 4-H members to display as well. We want to give a big thank you to our local 4-H students for sharing your talents and hard work with us!

On Veterans Day, Arbor Lakes Senior Living held a special ceremony to honor our 44 veterans – that’s over one quarter of our community members! The program consisted of select readings, prayers, music, a reflection from Chaplain Howard Dotson of Brighton Hospice, and a presentation of certificates for each veteran. We’d like to share a quote from the ceremony that captured the primary message beautifully:
“The price of freedom is high. We cannot afford to forget those willing to pay it. Today, we celebrate America’s veterans for keeping this Nation ‘the land of the free and the home of the brave.’”
To all who served our county, we say thank for your service, sacrifice, and courage in defending our freedoms.

Some of the residents and staff at Arbor Lakes Senior Living really got into the Halloween spirit this year! Saturday’s celebrations started with a morning game of “boo bingo,” where winners had to pop a balloon to learn what prize they won. In the afternoon, residents stopped by our on-campus pub to pick up a Halloween treat bag put together by youth groups from St. Joseph the Worker Church.
