October 13- Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day. 💚
Metastatic breast cancer is an aggressive, Stage IV form of the disease that has spread outside of the breasts. It generally starts as early breast cancer before spreading- which is why early detection and treatment is important. In 2017, a study from the National Cancer Institute shows that metastatic breast cancer cases are increasing in number, with 150,000 new cases of MBC in the U.S.

❤️ February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness of heart disease, which is the #1 killer of Americans. ❤️ This year's heart month is especially important, as it becomes evident that COVID-19 can negatively affect the heart and vascular system's overall health.
The good news is that in most cases, heart disease is preventable! Reduce your risk of heart disease by: not smoking or quitting smoking, controlling blood sugar and cholesterol, treating high blood pressure, getting 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week, and attending regular check ups!
