ASHISH ASAWA, M.D.
Dr. Asawa is a board certified adult and pediatric allergy, asthma, and immunology specialist. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, allergic skin diseases, angioedema, food allergy, venom or insect allergy, and asthma.
Dr. Asawa was born in Houston and raised in Sugar Land. He completed his undergraduate degree at Washington University in Saint Louis. After graduating from college and before joining medical school, he served as an AmeriCorps member at Aspiring Youth of Houston. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his internal medicine residency at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. He worked as an assistant professor of general internal medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston for several years and was awarded UT Health Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award.
He returned to UTMB to pursue his passion and complete a fellowship in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology. At UTMB, Dr. Asawa was honored with the distinction of 2014-2015 UTMB outstanding overall fellow. Dr. Asawa has presented at numerous local and national allergy and immunology meetings. In addition, the patient education and quality improvement research he produced at UTMB received national and international recognition in the press. Dr. Asawa has published his work in a nationally recognized allergy, asthma, and immunology medical journal. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He holds memberships in local, state, and national allergy, asthma, and immunology organizations.
Dr. Asawa resides in Sugar Land with his wife and three children. He is an avid and proud Houston sports fan. Dr. Asawa is currently accepting new patients at the Sugar Land Campus. Schedule
