Our country is hurting in so many ways. Whether it be the pandemic, funerals without people, social isolation, job loss, high school or college graduations without fanfare or protests and the social injustice people face, in times like these, I lean heavily on my faith and prayer.
I believe that all humans are created in the likeness and image of God and are to be loved without exception. It is not always easy to love everyone as we all have faults and are far from perfect, but we are all worthy of love and to be treated with dignity and respect.
It’s important that we take time to truly listen to other's ideas, insights, perspectives and opinions to better understand and grow.
We all can learn from the past. We can and must grow and have the patience to listen, understand, change and respond in new ways if we are to grow. I’ve always said that no one likes to hear opinions that differ from theirs, receive constructive feedback or receive a “performance improvement plan” at work. Why? Because, we believe that we are already doing the right thing and busting our tail at the same time. Any feedback or opinion to the contrary can’t be correct! But without someone willing to speak up and another person willing to listen, no positive change will occur.
We should listen to each other and feel free to have the tough conversations in a positive and team focused manner. I firmly believe that we are all called to to serve others and that translates to all of our teammates (and not just our clients). Our over arching commitment of our Core Values challenges us to honor others by respecting ourselves, our clients and our teammates each and every day.
Our commitment to living our Core Values is more important than ever and to ensure that Assistance Home Care is a place where trust and teamwork rule. Doing so can help us to become the best version of ourselves and to see love in everyone and give love to those around us.
Change happens within us and allows us to impact those closest to us us and our small daily actions can have a profound ripple effect in our community and the world.
