Barney Jette Jewelry Design creates a piece of handcrafted jewelry that will exceed your expectations. All of our pieces are handcrafted in our store in beautiful downtown Missoula, Montana. We begin by listening. After a design concept has been established, a three dimensional wax is created for your approval or modification. We then cast the wax model into the metal of your choice: 14k, 18k, Palladium or Platinum.
We are committed to using only the finest Russian diamonds. A Russian Cut diamond is cut to produce maximum brilliance. The Russians still adhere to the Old Russian technique: sacrificing rough at all cost to produce a superior cut. The cutters forfeit weight and yield of the rough to bring out the stone’s full potential. These impeccably cut stones have fire and luster unparalleled in the diamond industry. Diamonds from Russia are of the finest makes in the world. You’ll see the Russian difference in our designs.
The Montana Yogo Sapphire graces our handcrafted designs. The Yogo Sapphire is a premium untreated natural sapphire found in the Little Belt Mountains in Central Montana. The dike was formed millions of years ago. The slow crystallization of Yogo sapphires produced clean sapphire crystals having an even distribution of color saturation. Virtually every crystal contained traces of iron and titanium that gave each crystal a beautiful cornflower blue color. Less than 10% were purple color change. The mine has been closed since December, 2004; although we still have the finest cut Yogo sapphires available for our designs.
