Hi All....Hope everyone is hanging in there with the new "normal". Well school has started and the weather is changing. Where do we go from here? As for right now we are going to continue with curbside as long as we can. We hate doing business this way but it seems to be the safest way for us right now. We are continuing to work out a plan for when the snow flys. So PLEASE continue to be patient and work with us, as we continue to care for and treat your fur babies as one of the family. Please Stay Healthy!! We apologize for the busy phone lines but keep trying!!! Thank You for Hanging in there with us.....
WHY CAN'T I COME IN WITH MY PET? CURBSIDE CHECK-IN DURING COVID-19 We understand that you would like to be with your pet in the examination room We enjoy having you there too. It's much easier for us to talk to you directly about your pet's health. However right now we are required to follow guidelines issued by New York State that state "Curbside intake and pickup of animals should be used, wherever practical, to minimize the number of clients in waiting areas and exam rooms." Although that creates a lot of extra work for our staff, we are committed to complying with the NY State safety guidelines during the COVID-19 crisis, and to protect our client's health and safety. Why does NY State have such restrictive guidelines for animal hospitals? The NY State government has put detailed guidelines in place for all businesses, not just veterinarians. For example, medical facilities are required to screen patients before admitting them into the facility. Are these still necessary? Restrictions are lifted on other things. By July 2020, restrictions like curbside check-in have helped reduce the number of people diagnosed with COVID-19 in New York State down from over 10,000 a day, to less than 1,000. At the same time we have seen infections rise dramatically in other States who had fewer restrictions. The government still lifts restrictions where it is essential to get other parts of the economy restarted, but we don't expect to see change for a while on safety measures like curbside check-in that have been seen to be effective. Let's make this work together Curbside check-in is inconvenient for you and creates a lot of extra work for our staff. It's hard on all of us. We don't get to see you like we used to. But let's work together to make your visit as easy as possible, using our curbside visit protocols. THANK YOU
Stay safe everyone! Enjoy the Holiday Weekend! American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) June 27, 2018 at 12:30 PM · July 4th is approaching, which means it's time to consider how fireworks will affect your pets. Shelters have a high influx of pets around Independence Day because the sound of fireworks can frighten them, and there's a greater chance they'll try to run away. Consider keeping your pets at home and indoors during the festivities, and talk with your veterinarian about ways you can reduce the risk of problems. Be sure your pet's microchip information is up-to-date in case they do escape and go missing. For more July 4th safety tips, visit http://bit.ly/2lC9d2M.
Thank you for your patience as we try our best to maintain our clinic hours despite the challenges of social distancing and curbside service. Anyone trying to get through on the phone, thank you for your understanding as there is higher than usual call volume as doctors and technicians are communicating with pet parents over the phone rather than in person. We will get through this. And we are here for you. Our normal office hours are 8-6, M-F, but temporarily we are not open Saturday am. Appointments are being scheduled by priority. Stay well, and stay safe. And thank you for your support. I Love Dogs April 26 at 12:55 PM · Trust me, I’m a dogtor... 👨‍⚕️😂 📷 : Instagram/nozie_rosie

October 11-17 is National Veterinary Technician Week! This year has been trying on so many levels - and our Veterinary Technicians deserve some kindness and recognition! They are advocates, hug givers, lab technicians, helping hands, friends, protectors, cat wranglers, and teachers. To the animals that they help and to the clinics/hospitals that they work at, Vet Techs are real life superheroes. Thank you for all you do!
Thank You All.... Dr. Fitzpatrick and all the staff here at Beaver Lake Animal Hospital would like to thank you all for being so understanding through these trying times. We have worked very hard to keep our clients ,new and old, as happy as possible. We miss seeing you all in person but appreciate that we get to see your fur babies and take care of them as if they are our own. This certainly has been a crazy year with no signs of it getting any better, so please continue to be patient and let us do the best we can for you and all your fur babies. Again Thank You and Happy Holidays!!!
Just a word of thanks- several clients have canceled appointments due to not feeling well themselves, or being directly exposed to someone not feeling well. We appreciate that. Our curbside protocols are as challenging for us as they are for our clients, but they serve to minimize potential exposure to illness for all of us, who would like to remain open for all of you. If you don't feel well, please stay home. If a visit for your pet is urgent and cannot wait, please speak to one of our medical team to discuss how best to proceed. Cornell Feline Health Center January 9 at 2:07 PM · With the ongoing pandemic, every sneeze and cough can put your mind in overdrive. Respiratory infections are common in cats, especially in high-density populations such as shelters, breeding catteries, and feral cat colonies. A variety of viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoa cause these infections, which negatively impact feline health. In order for you to put your mind at ease have your Vet evaluate the health of your little fur baby.
