Tracy has been a Nurse for 24 years. The last 10 years have been spent in Long Term Care and mostly Hospice. Her true love is Long Term Care and is so happy to follow her true love. Tracy has 2 amazing daughters Aubrey and Katelyn. They are amazing gymnasts and cheerleaders. She also has a fur baby named Winnie. Tracy looks forward to meeting everyone!
Well, we have our winner for our first Corn Hole Competition! Friday's game was fun to watch and our top 3 scoring residents battled it out to the end. With a score of 202 Ed is our winner! Ron came in second with a score of 139 and Christina third place with a score of 136!
As some of you know today is my last day at Bickford. I have been very blessed over the last year to be part of such a special group of people. Its been a true honor to help families thru what can be a very difficult time. My own family is facing medical challenges that has been part of my choice to leave so I can be closer to home. I really want to thank my Bickford family for all the support over the last several months, I intend on keeping tabs on everyone and stopping in for a visit now and then. Take care and I will see you soon!

We would like to welcome our new Community Relations Director - Brittany Minnich!
Previously, Brittany was part of an Admissions Team as well as a Recreation Therapist for a rehabilitation facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Brittany graduated from Southern Illinois University then obtained her Masters in Business Adminerstrations from Western Governers University. Two years ago, Brittnay resuced her dog child named Neptune! Most of her hobbies revolve around her dog and being outdoors. Brittany enjoys swimming, hiking, boating and listening to country music. Brittany grew up in the Tinley Park Communinty and is very excited to be home with family and friends. Growing up Brittany knew she wanted to work with the elderly population and is eager to meet all are Bickford families!

Marie is a social butterfly who loves to talk about her beautiful granddaughter and reminisce about holiday traditions she has with her family. Marie has one son and when he was younger, Marie loved taking him around trick or treating! One of her favorite costumes to dress up as was the flapper from the 20’s. Her son would dress up as Spiderman or Batman. Marie shared that they would have a Halloween party every year with games, candy and Halloween music! Marie also enjoyed watching some scary movies to end her night! But Marie’s favorite thing about Halloween is decorating! Marie wanted some holiday décor to decorate her door so while Marie was away at a doctor’s appointment, all our BFMs got together to decorated Marie’s door for when she came back! Marie was so touched and felt so loved by her Bickford family! It is truly inspiring what small gestures do to our resident’s happiness!

A few of our residents wrote out Birthday cards for Rita who will be turning 100 years old on January 12th. Rita lives at Bickford of Davenport, IA. What a great way for our Bickford families within other states to stay connected and work together to enrich happiness to others. I have no doubt that Rita and her family who cannot be there for her birthday because of covid restrictions will enjoy reading the 100 plus cards sent from us and other Bickford homes for Rita on her special day!.

Vince is a friendly guy who loves to talk about his younger days living in Italy. Since Covid
hit he has not been able to get a haircut. He mentioned his hair getting long and curly to Claire who has some tools from being a hair stylist in years prior. She brought her styling tools into work and surprised Vince with a much needed haircut. While getting his haircut Vince was talking about how he used to get his haircut every week and it has never been this long. He was very appreciative and so happy.
Claire now makes time to cut other residents hair during her free time until our hair stylist Debbie returns.

Thank you also to our Nurse Beverly who played beautiful hymns and songs on the piano to join us together during the start of Lent.
