Celebrating Assisted Living Week
Yesterday we had an amazing time fulfilling another "As You Wish" for someone. Peg was an officer in the ROTC throughout high school. In 1964, Peg was crowned the Queen of the ROTC Ball. She was also a finalist in the Miss Teenage Chicago Pageant. Peg's wish was to recreate her Beauty Pageant days. We created this moment with everyone walking down the runway to strut their stuff and then recreating Peg being crowned. The joy on her face and everyone else's says it all.

Whether you came to volunteer sell 50/50 raffle tickets, came to watch the show, donated, or rode in the show....thank you! Also thank you to Frances Field and the Will County Trail Riders for your support! We raised $1,278 that will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association!

Cake Decorating Rekindles the Joy of Baking at Grace Point Place Memory Care
Porter Place Memory Care is sponsoring several horse competition classes on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Francis Field in New Lenox, IL and invite you to attend!
We believe in promoting memory loss awareness and support, thus we will proudly donate all proceeds from #EndALZ horse/rider & horse/carriage classes to benefit Alzheimer's research and education. This event is open to the public. Food will be available for purchase, as well as 50/50 raffles and opportunities to learn more about dementia related support available --- not to mention viewing beautiful horses compete for champion awards and carriage rides to those who mention "Porter Place sent me" to the carriage driver between 11:30 - Noon. Donations are accepted. :-)
Please join us Sunday, 10/4 for a family friendly outing that will safely practice social distancing. Gate admission is $2 and masks are requested. Porter Place will have a table located near the outdoor horse arena, please stop to visit us. We appreciate and thank the Porter Place resident families who have volunteered to help us and/or provided us a $25 check for donation to Alzheimer's of Illinois. We are still accepting donations!! Please consider helping us raise money for this VERY IMPORTANT cause. They can be mailed to Bobbi Kelley at Porter Place, 17833 S Harlem, Tinley Park, IL 60449.
Don't forget this FRIDAY is our Trunk or Treat event! Please RSVP if you will be decorating your car and passing out candy so we will have enough parking spots reserved. We look forward to seeing everyone!
