Dear clients,
If you would like to file an amended return for either the Unemployment exclusion or the Advanced premium tax credit repayment (for those that use Marketplace insurance) please call the office and have your return moved to our Amended hold location.
When our software makes the update available to remedy these issues, we will pull your return, amend and call you with the changes. Amended fees for existing clients begin at $45.
Please let us know if you are interested in utilizing these changes.

With this ever changing tax season, we will do our best to keep you up to date on how things are progressing in relation to the new American Rescue Act.
The IRS has made a statement about the Unemployment exclusion.
Returns filed with unemployment benefits prior to the $10,200 exclusion should not be amended. The IRS has indicated it will refigure taxes on these returns and adjust the taxpayer's account accordingly. The IRS will then send any refund amount directly to the taxpayer.
The IRS has not yet communicated a timeline for making adjustments and sending refunds.
We are still seeing the need to amend the State returns if the state does not issue a response to the IRS proposed changes. We will be contacting clients with unemployment after April 15th to discuss matters further.
