Another Grand Parents’ bragging time: Just found out that one of Flex’s puppies, “BDS Pointe O’ View (Sky)” won the Amateur at the Flat River Retriever Club of Michigan 2020 Fall Field Trial in Fenwick, MI this past weekend. Like Father, Like Daughter – they both won an Amateur in the same weekend. Sky’s owner David Gaul said that she ran very nice for him. She is only 27 months old and this was her first All Age event, looks like she has a great start to an exciting future. Extremely excited to see what is in store for David and Sky. Congratulations David!!!
It was so wonderful to finally get to a field trial and spend time with old and new friends outdoors watching some great dog work. This was our first trial since the pandemic lockdown. We attended the Central Savannah River Area Retriever Club 2020 Fall Field Trial in Lincolnton, GA this weekend. Johnny ran Classy, Dagger, and Flex in the Open and got all three of them to the 3rd series, however, he ended up having to pick each one up on the long middle bird. We have to work on looking up when we look way out, Johnny knew he was in trouble each dog when the first gun went off and their eyes started scanning. Johnny ran Flex and Dagger in the Amateur, Dagger did not do so well in the first series but Flex pulled it out and won the amateur. Edge did run his first Derby this weekend, he made it to the 2nd series and got dropped, he hunted a little to far in front of the gun I should probably say a little way too far in front of the gun. He’ll get it, but not really ready yet. Thanks goes to all the workers, land owners, and judges for making this trial such a success. Still very proud of all our 4-legged babies. Next weekend we will be in South Boston, VA. Thanks again for all your support and well wishes!!!

Sorry for posting so late, should have gotten the update for the Weekend of 10/9 at the Tar Heel Retriever Club 2020 fall field trial in South Boston, VA to you guys last week but had way too much going on, so here is a two week update. In South Boston at the Tar Heel Trial, Flex got 2nd in the Open and Dagger got 3rd in the Amateur. It was a great weekend watching great dog work and seeing old and new friends. Thanks to the workers, club members, landowners, and judges. Also should mention one of Flex’s daughters also won the Qualifying, DBS Pointe O’View - Sky (owned by David Gaul and handled by David Gaul). She and David are pictured below.
Now for the update of this weekend. We were at the Maryland Retriever Club 2020 Spring Make Up Trial held in Powellville, MD. Kathy judged the Derby and Q while Johnny ran Flex and Dagger. Dagger won the Amateur, Flex got 3rd in the Open and Dagger got 4th in the Open. Thanks to everyone there for making this possible. Our little Lethal was at the Down East Hunting Retriever Club of North Carolina 2020 Fall Field Trial in Rocky Point, NC with Black River Retrievers, Hunter Street handled Lethal to another 3rd in the Open. We are so grateful and thank everyone for making the trials possible. It is so wonderful to be back doing what we love.
