ABOUT DR. KOTLUS – NYC OCULOPLASTIC SURGEON AND COSMETIC FACIAL SURGEON
Brett Kotlus, MD is a top-rated NYC oculoplastic and facial cosmetic surgeon. He is fellowship-trained in both oculoplastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. He has performed thousands of cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Kotlus received a Master’s degree in Genetics from the Pennsylvania State University and his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine. After completing his residency at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he completed two accredited fellowships in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery and General Cosmetic Surgery in Tucson, Arizona. He subsequently served as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona. Before moving his practice to NYC in 2014, Dr. Kotlus provided surgical and non-surgical aesthetic services for 8 years in the Midwest at one of the country’s most successful cosmetic surgery offices.
Dr. Kotlus is the recipient of the Robert F. Jackson Award from the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery for achieving the highest score on the board examination and Dr. Kotlus serves on the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He also received the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and two research grants from the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation. He developed his own eyelid surgery instruments with 3D printers and was awarded a patent for his custom aesthetic and reconstructive implant design system.
Dr. Kotlus is active in charitable causes and has performed medical mission work in Mongolia with Health for Humanity. He is affiliated with New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in lower Manhattan and the Northwell Health System and he accepts Aetna, Cigna, Care Connect, United Healthcare Empire Plan, Magnacare, and Medicare insurance plans.
