The Yellowstone Valley Walk to Fight Suicide happens Sat-Sun Sept 19-20. No huge gathering this year, but there 5 smaller sites: Will James Middle School, Veterans Park, Swords Park, Shiloh Conservation Area, and Two Moon Park in Billings Heights, where you can walk in small groups, turn in donations, pick up honor beads and wristbands. Volunteers will be at these sites on Sunday 11:30am-2:30pm (plus Saturday at Will James only, 9:30-11:30am). Free registration+details at afsp.org/yellowstonevalley. This year all registration is online, and Walk shirts will be directly mailed to anyone who raises $150 or more. EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a type of psychotherapy used to process traumas. When an individual experiences a trauma, it creates a block in the brain. This block will manifest into more emotional pain if it goes unprocessed. What EMDR works to do is eliminate the block more quickly than standard talk therapy in order to facilitate healing.
Interested in knowing more about EMDR, find out more on our website.
