The chillier months are upon us, so who wouldn’t love someone knocking on their door delivering hot cocoa? Especially when it’s topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Add some mini chocolate chip cookies, and you have the perfect recipe to end your day.
Resident Margo is pictured here in 1949 on her first date with Herbie. They went fishing in Pt. Pleasant, and it was the first time he put his arm around her. He got the perfect catch that day. They spent so many happy years together, and never stopped smiling. Now that’s a match made in heaven!
Kicking off our Gratitude is Ageless Campaign by celebrating with some of our shining stars. Appreciative residents didn’t waste any time to cover our team members with thank you post-it notes, followed by a verbal thank you and lots of smiles!
Throwing it back to 1945 when this beautiful bride, Marion Frost, married the love of her life, Jack Frost. We are blessed to have Marion in our community sharing her wonderful stories of the many years they shared of marital bliss together. By the way, she said Jack Frost absolutely loved the Christmas holiday season...but of course.
What the world needs now is love sweet love. We always have extra love to give at our community, especially to our furry little friends.
In honor of Assisted Living Week, words cannot express our gratitude for having such awesome staff and residents to share our days with. In addition to saying thank you for all you do, we provided some freshly made donuts to sweeten everyone’s day!
Another season, another reason for being thankful! One of our vendors sent us a heartfelt thank you and appreciation letter. We’d like to thank her for imagining walking in our shoes, and realizing the journey is very challenging in these times. But, we still do what it takes in order to keep everyone safe! Thank you, Christina, and God Bless you and yours too.
Frohliches Oktoberfest, translation: Happy Oktoberfest! It was a happy one indeed with some traditional favorites being featured on our dinner menu, complete with German chocolate cake. Maybe it should be extended into November as well.
Congratulations to our dining team and Manager, Abby for his great leadership! They have received the Award of Excellence from the Advanced Standing Inspection. We know how hard you all work, so we wouldn’t expect anything less.
What do flowers, sand art, stained glass, and quilting have in common? Not much, unless they are put in the hands of some artistically talented residents that can show off their talents!
Behind this mask is a smile. Knowing that her residents were about to enjoy our homemade bruschetta with sparkling chilled apple cider, makes Bianca very happy. Always raising the bar from the ordinary is something we pride ourselves on.
Our community is an avid supporter of The Alzheimer’s Association. Whatever your reason may be for supporting it, let us keep growing like a garden towards finding a cure!
One of the definitions of community is “having a particular characteristic in common”. In our community that common characteristic is getting to know our residents on a one-on-one basis. Here we see Robert our executive director connecting with Frances.
Words can never express how special our Veterans are to us and our country. Make it a point to thank them when you see them and respect their dedication to making our country safe. God bless you all!
Bianca, Resident Programs Manager left our resident Rose a little surprise to satisfy her sweet tooth. Just a token of gratitude for Rose sharing her memories, life’s experiences, and worldly knowledge.
We paid tribute to all of our resident veterans today. But we let them know not just once a year, that we are eternally appreciative of how their courage changed the course of history. We salute you all!
All of our residents are special, especially on their special day. Happy Birthday Frances who was busy all day speaking with all of her well wishers. But at the end of the day we got a chance to give her our best wishes, while she enjoyed one of her favorites. Warm freshly baked peach pie and the scent of roses, is a great way to end the day.
One of our dining room servers, Mercedes, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
It’s a beautiful day to save lives. Brookdale Florham Park just had a great first vaccine clinic! Complete with colorful band aids and lollipops. Who knew getting a shot could be so much fun? Stayed tuned for information on the upcoming clinics.
Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to Abbi, our Dining Manager. He has been a crucial part of our Florham Park team for five years. How time flies when you’re having fun!
We raised our glasses toasting to the upcoming year, and all the positivity it has to offer. Here’s to a healthy, happier and back to normal new year for all very soon!
Until next year, Santa says keep safe and keep smiling!
