Our resident, Mr. Madzelan, was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, and served in both the United States Army and Navy from 1967-1969. Mr. Madzelan stated the best part of the military was learning discipline.

Our resident, Ms. Gallup, served in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary as a Flotilla Staff Officer from 1992-2007. Ms. Gallup received numerous awards for all of her countless hours donated to the Coast Guard. Thank you so much for your service Ms. Gallup!

In honor of Veterans Day, we are spotlighting residents here at Brookdale Mt. Hood. Meet Mr. Wild — United States Air Force 1954-1958!
Mr. Wild was born in 1935 in Mankato, Minnesota. He said he enjoyed serving his country because he got to experience new places while in the Air Force. His favorite destination was England where his first daughter was born. When asked if he would encourage young men and women to serve in the Military, he said, "Absolutely, it teaches you so much about life". When asked what Veterans Day meant to him he stated, “Freedom, sacrifice, and honor”.
We are so lucky to have such talented residents here at Brookdale Mt. Hood!

The CDC strongly recommends the COVID-19 vaccine and it’s so important that as many people as possible get vaccinated. We will be having our second vaccine clinic on February 7th from 10am-2pm for community residents and associates who are interested in receiving their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
