Beauties on parade! We have an exceptionally-talented employee who can do basic hairstyles to make our residents feel good about themselves. We all feel better when we look our best! Here are some of our pretty ladies.
This week’s resident Troutdale Treasure is Nolan. He has been a resident of Brookdale Troutdale for a little over a year. Nolan is an old-fashioned gentleman who is fond of looking after his fellow residents. Nolan enjoys participating in physical games, watching sports and game shows and helping where he can. We are happy that Nolan is part of our Brookdale Troutdale family!
This week’s resident Troutdale Treasure is Juanita. She has been with us for a little more than three years. At 94 years young, Juanita likes participating in bible studies, listening to traditional hymns and attending our in-house church service on Sundays. Juanita also likes to look her best and loves to get her hair done. She is beloved by staff members. We are happy that Juanita is part of our Brookdale Troutdale family!
Doing puzzles is fun and a great way to exercise the brain! We do a variety of puzzles daily, from small, easy to do selections, to large 300 piece puzzles. The residents love to work on them, even the harder puzzles. There is a sense of accomplishment when puzzles are completed.

We feel that way about our residents here at Brookdale Troutdale, so we did an apple tasting complete with tasty apple cider. The residents had a lot of fun eating their delicious apple slices!

We recently had a cookie tasting - yum! The residents loved the variety as we featured Oreos, Snickerdoodles, Grasshoppers and Nutter Butters. Of course we served the cookies with milk!
This week’s resident Troutdale Treasure is Theresa. She has been with us for close to three years and recently celebrated her 79th birthday! Theresa worked all her life as a chemist. She enjoys the Mexican culture and listening to music. We are happy that Theresa is a part of our Brookdale Troutdale family!
Sales Managers Debby Ross (Brookdale Troutdale Memory Care) and Naomi Boers (Brookdale Mt. Hood Assisted Living) delivered delicious treats to medical referral partners recently. Medical staff were happy to receive special autumn caramel apples from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Company.
This week’s resident Troutdale Treasure is Becky. She has been with us for a year and a half. Becky loves to watch the goings-on in Town Square and enjoys participating in crafts, coloring, and fun physical games. She is loved by staff and just about always has a smile on her face. We are happy that Becky is a part of our Brookdale Troutdale family!

Gloria is always in a great mood and likes to participate in matching games, trivia and physical activities. She is well-loved by staff and residents alike. The trick to aging gracefully is to enjoy it! The residents had lots of fun at our recent celebration for November birthdays. We had music, presents and delicious cake. Happy November birthday to Nolan, Georgia, Becky and Diana!

Afternoons are for having fun! We played Corn Hole, bowling, and ladder golf, accompanied by some 70s music. Residents were encouraged to try the games and were cheered on by staff and the “audience” waiting for their turns. One of our residents, 105-year-old Thelma (wearing dark glasses), proved to be very good at playing Corn Hole!

We celebrated January birthdays recently. Those with birthdays were able to choose a gift from the Birthday Basket. Happy birthday to Gloria, Nancy, Ruby and Ramona!
The staff and residents of Brookdale Troutdale were able to receive our first COVID-19 vaccination recently. Partnered with CVS Pharmacy and with great organization, everything went smoothly. We were also joined by a nurse from Optum, who also contributed to the success of this event. We look forward to getting the second shot of the vaccine in a couple of weeks.

Bob and Shirley have been married for almost 62 years. Their anniversary is on February 27th. Bob is a true gentleman that has never let his romance fade. His love for Shirley is quite evident in the things he does for her. It’s wonderful to see their shared love.❤️

She tells amazing stories when we are doing group activities. Patsy spent time in little theater and loves to be in the spotlight. She is well-loved by the staff. We are happy that Patsy is part of our Brookdale Troutdale family!

At Brookdale Troutdale, we specialize in having fun with our residents. Recently we played ball. It’s wonderful to see those who are reluctant to do something try with a bit of encouragement. These residents were throwing the ball and catching it. The whole group was cheering each of them on. Smiles were evident as confidence grew. And for those of us watching, our hearts grew lighter. 😊
