While this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s events will be different, they continue to be deeply meaningful. They continue to help raise awareness about the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. They continue to help raise funds that make a difference in the lives of those facing Alzheimer’s. We were “mudsliding” into fall today!
We were at Brookdale Downs for the Brookdale Derby last night. Carl won the gift basket because he got all 3 wins placed and shown in the correct order and John has won as well. They both got a gift basket. We had snacks and mint juleps. A fun time was had by all!

Thursday is National homemade soup day. That’s easy for us at Brookdale PGI. All our soups are scratch-made by our chef daily! Thursday’s offering is Cream of Mushroom soup. It is definitely a crowd favorite. Cynthia, one of our caregivers, is helping the chef by filling everyone’s bowl with mushroom goodness.
We followed all the guidelines and we are ALL EATING IN THE DINING ROOM! This is HUGE!
WE GOT OUR FIRST COVID 19 SHOTS TODAY!!!!! We are so very excited! As much fun as we had we also realize how serious this is and that we are all doing the right thing!
Happy Birthday Dan!!! His son surprised him by bringing his clubs, so he could hit a few out in the backyard. Dan was so very happy. By the way, Dan has had TWO holes in one!
Morning Stretch is a great way to start the day. We start each day with deep breathing to get oxygen to our muscles. Morning stretch is always followed with a question of the day such as “Which of your ancestors would you most like to meet?” Or “What is your favorite quotation?”
