Good day to all our wonderful patients, We hope this email finds you and all around you in good health. We have recently become aware that we have had a low risk exposure to a possible Covid-19 person. Their exposure has been traced to an individual outside our office. The safety of our patients, families and community is our number one priority. The measures we take for that safety is above and beyond CDC and ADA recommendations. Though we cannot go into details due to HIPAA regulations, rest assure that all safety, cleaning and PPE protocols are performed. No one's safety has been or ever will be compromised. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the office at 815-455-3123. We enjoy hearing from you. Stay well, Dr. Kevin and Staff
We hope this finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it's both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: · Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You'll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at the office. · Upon arrival to your appointment we ask you to call us from your vehicle if possible. ((815)455-3123) We will take your temperature with a touchless thermometer. · To limit interaction in the reception area, we encourage patients who can stay in the comfort of their own vehicle to do so. When your operatory is ready we will call, text or escort you to your room. · We ask that only patients getting treated enter the building, but also understand there are exceptions (i.e. interpreters, care givers, parents for minors, support animals, et al) · We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. · You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, coloring books or coffee bar since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. · Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you're offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. · We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (815)455-3123. Starting May 18th, we will be open Monday through Friday as we work towards opening to our normal hours starting June 1st. We are prioritizing patients who were rescheduled multiple times during this past 8 weeks while the shelter in place order has been in effect. Just a reminder, if you have an emergency, please call the office. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends. Sincerely, Dr. Kevin Bruggeman and Staff
As you are all aware, Governor Pritzker has extended the mandated "Shelter-in-Place" order that started on March 21st until April 30th. This is also in accordance with the recommendations of the ADA and the ISDS. Here at Bruggeman Dentistry, we want to reassure you that the health and safety of our patients, staff, families and community is our utmost priority. We are in agreement and adherent to these recommendations. We hope to be open soon to see you all and take care of your dental health. As of right now, May 1st is the projected day of resumed operations, however this may very well change. When we get the all clear and feel that it is safe for all of us to return, our staff will make every effort to schedule you as soon as possible and we will expand our hours to accommodate you. Please remember we are still the front line for your dental emergencies. If you believe you have a true dental emergency, you can call our emergency contact number at 815-271-2509 and you will talk directly to Jennifer or myself. Please follow CDC guidelines:  Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds  Between hand washes, use sanitizer regularly, especially after touching doorknobs and keyboards in public places  Avoid touching your face (nose, eyes, mouth) with unwashed or unsanitized hands  Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or cough into your elbow. Throw away any used tissues promptly and wash your hands immediately.  Limit social interactions and stay a minimum of 6 feet away from others Stay home, stay healthy, stay safe, Dr. Kevin Bruggeman P.S. Flossing, while watching all 11 Star Wars movies is a great way to pass the time! 😉
