About

Inside Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, the Cancer Care Northwest Sacred Heart Clinic is one out of eight of our state-of-the-art radiation locations with the latest technology and treatment options. This includes the region’s most advanced radiation treatment system, the Elekta Infinity Linear Accelerator. Patients also have access to our experienced physicians and their support staff.

Additionally, this CCNW clinic location offers pediatric oncology, available through a unique medical collaboration with Providence Health Care and Kootenai Health, known as The Alliance for Cancer Care.

For four decades, cancer patients and their families have trusted Cancer Care Northwest as their partner in their fight against cancer. Why?

From chemotherapy, surgery and radiation, to dietary consultations, lab work, and financial and emotional support, we provide the comprehensive services you and your family need to fight your cancer, restore hope and heal—all under one roof. And with five clinics throughout the Spokane area, and three clinics in Northern Idaho, you can choose a location that’s most convenient for you. That means less stress and more time to focus on getting well.

Teamwork for Improved Results
At Cancer Care Northwest, you don’t just get a doctor. You get an integrated team of cancer specialists. Your care team may include; surgical oncologists, gynecological oncologists, breast surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and other specialists, all working closely to ensure the best possible care and outcomes. This kind of teamwork isn’t easy to find. In fact, we are the only privately owned, fully integrated cancer center in the Inland Northwest that offers a comprehensive approach to treating cancer.

Access to Emerging Treatments
We are actively engaged in performing research to improve cancer treatments and to ultimately find a cure for cancer. Through our dozens of clinical research trials, and the latest equipment and technology, we not only advance knowledge about cancer, we give patients access to emerging treatment options—right here at home.

Did you know that 40% the red blood cells and 42% of the platelets in the National Blood Supply go to help inpatient, hematology and oncology patients? That’s why this summer, CCNW hosted a blood drive with our community blood donation center Vitalant - Washington & Idaho. We had a total of 56 employees make a blood donation, which will benefit 168 lives. Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to give back to our community. This simple, lifesaving action has the remarkable power to transform lives. Thank you to all CCNW employees who participated!
March is Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Awareness Month, which is a good time to share new CRC screening guidelines. This month, The American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) has officially updated the guidelines for colon cancer screening, recommending that screening should now start at age 45 rather than age 50 for people of average risk in light of data gathered over the past decade. While rates have declined in people over 50, they’ve nearly doubled in those ages 20 to 49, and those born around 1990 have twice the risk of colon cancer. “What Cancer Cannot Do” Author: Unknown Cancer is so limited... It cannot cripple love. It cannot shatter hope. It cannot corrode faith. It cannot eat away peace. It cannot destroy confidence. It cannot kill friendship. It cannot shut out memories. It cannot silence courage. It cannot reduce eternal life. It cannot quench the spirit.
The US Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) released new guidelines for annual lung cancer screening through low-dose CT scans. The new guidelines lowered the recommended age range to begin screening from 55 to 50 and reduced the minimum pack-year smoking history from 30 to 20. The purpose of performing low-dose CT scans is to detect lung cancer early when treatment options can be most effective, which will reduce the lung cancer mortality rate. If you qualify for lung cancer screening, please consult with you doctor or call Inland Imaging at (509) 363-7799 for more information. MEDPAGETODAY.COM USPSTF Expands Lung Cancer Screening Criteria
