Q: Do I need to call my doctor’s office to get a COVID-19 vaccine?
A: You do not need to call your doctor’s office to get a vaccine. We will send an invitation by email through your MyCenturaHealth patient portal.
Please note that a scheduled appointment is required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. We are unable to accommodate walk-ins at this time.

"Here's to Dad," Centura Health anesthesiologist Dr. Gregory Fauteux said this week as he received his second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Dr. Fauteux knows the devastation COVID-19 can cause; the virus took his father's life November 22. "One of the true tragedies is that there are over 350,000 people just like him - someone's father, someone's brother, someone's mother, someone's daughter, and we just need to take it seriously."
We're working day and night to get the vaccine to as many of you as possible and as quickly as possible in accordance with state guidelines for vaccine distribution. While this process plays out, it's essential that all of us continue to do the things we know stop the spread of this deadly virus: wear a face mask, social distance, practice good hand hygiene, and stay home when sick.
Thank you, Rocky Mountain PBS, for the story.

It's an honor for us to share James' incredible artwork as part of our Healing Arts program at Parker Adventist Hospital, where James underwent emergency spine surgery after a terrible horseback riding accident nearly three years ago. Creating art can be a powerful healing tool for anyone - regardless of your artistic experience or perceived talent.
“I rediscovered the love of making art," James told FOX31 KDVR.com. "That’s where the painting journey began. To be at home, unable to go anywhere, it was a perfect outlet really for me. It was very important to my healing — mentally and emotionally. I can’t imagine what I would’ve done as an alternative, what I was physically capable of doing that would give me so much joy, just to create something, see a result, and be able to share that with other people.”

We remain hard at work implementing a vaccine administration process that is efficient, safe and equitable. We know you have a lot of questions about the vaccine distribution phases, appointment scheduling and more. We've updated our COVID-19 vaccination website to provide clarity to you and your loved ones: https://www.centura.org/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine-information

We understand your eagerness to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. We're similarly eager to provide that vaccination to you. Dr. Shauna Gulley, our Chief Clinical Officer, talks about the appointment process and how our patients will be notified when a vaccine dose is available for them. For more information about the vaccine, visit https://www.centura.org/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine-information.
Centura Health remains committed to quickly and safely administering COVID-19 vaccinations in accordance with the state of Colorado’s tiered distribution plan. We know that the sooner Coloradans are vaccinated, the sooner this devastating pandemic can come to an end. We will send you an invitation to receive the vaccine based on your age, health risk factors and the tiering system established by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. No walk-in vaccination clinics are planned for the initial phases of vaccine distribution. For more information about the vaccine, visit https://www.centura.org/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine-information.
For us, care is about you and your whole health – mind, body and spirit. On Thursday, one of our St. Anthony Summit Medical Center patients celebrated a 40th birthday, and the nurses and care team hung up balloons and homemade banners to make the day a little more special. Birthdays deserve to be celebrated, and we're happy our incredible caregivers could help make sure a hospital stay didn't stop the festivities.
Although we’re just as excited to see you, there is no need to arrive early for your COVID-19 vaccination appointment at our Vaccines for All community clinics at the Broadmoor World Arena, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park or the Colorado State Fairgrounds. In fact, it will be quicker for you and others if you don’t arrive until your scheduled appointment time. See you soon!
Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the U.S. and the second-leading cause of cancer death. But early screenings can significantly improve your diagnosis and outcome. Please talk with your health care provider if you have symptoms such as a change in your bowel movements, dark or bloody stools, or frequent abdominal pain.
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and Centura Health's Dr. Benjamin Delano recently sat down with Andrew Rogers from KRDO NewsChannel 13 / KRDO.com's Business Connection to discuss symptoms, screenings and care options for colorectal cancer. Learn more about colorectal cancer, including screening and treatment options, at www.centura.org/care-and-health/cancer-care/colon-cancer.

Additional appointment slots have been added to our Vaccines for All drive-up community clinics next week in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Commerce City. To register and reserve a time, go to www.centura.org/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine-information/vaccine-events.
Cecilia was one of Avista Adventist Hospital's sickest patients during the second COVID-19 surge. She spent more than a month in the hospital and was eventually discharged to a long-term acute care facility on 40 liters of oxygen.
She has since graduated to a rehab facility and was down to just 3 liters of oxygen use at rest. Andrea Guthrie, Avista's COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Coordinator, was part of Cecilia's care team, and Andrea recently reunited with her former patient when Cecilia came to our vaccine clinic to receive her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
That vaccination appointment also served as a happy reunion for Cecilia and several other members of her hospital care team, including a couple ICU nurses who had cared for her. "The staff, myself included, were thrilled to see Cecilia's progress," Andrea says. "We don't often get to see what happens to people after they discharge from the hospital, so this really felt like a win."
We're proud of your progress, Cecilia, and we're proud of our incredible caregivers for their never-ending compassion!
There are still spots available at this weekend's Vaccines for All drive-up community vaccination clinic at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs. If you're currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine based on the state's phased prioritization, go to www.centura.org/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine-information/vaccine-events and click on "Drive-Up Vaccine Scheduling" to register and find an available time. See you there! #VaccinesForAll
