Happy St. Brigid’s Day to all! St. Brigid is one of Ireland’s famous patron saints, and she is well remembered for her piety, her kindness, and her generosity. She performed many miracles and founded several monasteries, most famously the cathedral in Co. Kildare that bears her name. The anniversary of her death, February 1st, is celebrated by a feast to honor her life as well as displaying on your door a St. Brigid’s cross, her holy symbol that wards off hunger and famine. 🇮🇪🥂☘️stbrigid #ireland #stbrigidscross #stbrigidsday #shoplocal

Happy 262nd Birthday to Robert Burns! #burnsnight #scotland #auldlangsyne #happybirthday
“Fair fa’ your honest sonsie face, Great Chieftan o’ the puddin-race!”~Robert Burns, An Ode To a Haggis. Burns night, January 25th, is right around the corner! It is a long-standing Scottish tradition to celebrate the legacy of the nations renowned “favorite son” on his birthday with a haggis dinner and readings of his poetry. Burns was born as a lowly plowman, but his creative poetry perfectly described the beauty of a life that many would consider poverty. Burns took pride in being in the Scottish working class, and his poetry is still cherished around the world, such as The Skye Boat Song, now famously the Outlander intro, or Auld Lang Syne, the song used to usher in the New Year worldwide. While we can’t have the grand gatherings we might be used to celebrating with, commemorate the spirit of the evening with haggis and whisky, and toast to the bard’s memory. 🥃🍛🥔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. #burnsnightsupper #scotland #togetherandapart #haggis
