29-year-old Elder Rodriguez has spent many days at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy battling cancer. He’s a member of a local car club, Metro Mopar Addicts. On Thursday, his friends and fellow members came together to surprise him with a parade in front of CUMC - Bergan Mercy’s campus. Each car that passed gave him words of encouragement and a balloon! His care team was honored to be a part of it. #TeamElder #GoodHappensHere

Happy birthday, CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy!
In 1870, the Sisters of Mercy opened St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, at 12th and Mason streets in Omaha. Those women knew the need everyone has for compassionate care and healing, said Sister Susan Sanders, RSM, leader of Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, West Midwest.
“It’s Gospel-based healing,” said Sister Susan. “Today, 150 years later, even though there are many fine hospitals in the Omaha area, the Sisters of Mercy are happy that the healing ministry of Jesus continues as CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy. We are proud of your ministry, and always have been since 1870.”

Although CHI Health hospitals and clinics are so busy caring for patients, we are honored to share with you one of the many acts of generosity our nurses and staff showed the communities we serve over Christmas.
April Morrow, a Clinical Lead at CHI Health University Campus, and many of her coworkers, provided meals and gift bags to patients who were alone or struggling on Christmas day. The University Campus staff stayed, or came in, on Christmas Eve to help April prepare 66 meals for patients and their families. We are humbled by this group's selfless act of kindness shown to so many who were alone on Christmas.
Every mask brings us one step closer to the future we all want to live. #DontShareYourAir #WearAMask #Hellohumankindness
