Born and raised in a rural village in the French Alps, Christophe Rougny began his hospitality career managing an English pub for several years in the French port city of Marseille. His growing reputation as a top professional bartender came to be known across southern France, where he was engaged for private parties and special events in such exotic locales as Cannes, Nice, and Monte Carlo, Monaco.
After living and working for a time in New York City, Christophe moved to Seattle, where he was soon hired by the renowned Northwest chef and restaurateur Tom Douglas (Dahlia Lounge, Etta's, Palace Kitchen, Lola) to manage bartending needs for high profile clients and special events. He worked backstage, coordinating dressing room catering for such visiting rock stars as Alanis Morissette, Blink 182, and No Doubt, plus major events like OzzFest.
Christophe was a bartender for the opening of Lola in 2004, one of Tom Douglas's premier Seattle restaurants, where he soon became lead bartender. He was also an Event Planner for and taught home bartending at Seattle's Blue Ribbon Cooking & Culinary Center, and currently specializes in bartending and catering for private parties internationally.
