We focus exclusively on neuropsychological evaluation of adults of any age, with a particular focus on those 55 and over. Our testing protocol assesses for the many dementias, including Alzheimer’s, dementia with Lewy bodies, and cognitive impairments related to Parkinson’s, Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis and ALS; vascular dementia, frontotemporal lobar degeneration; stroke; traumatic brain injury; mood and other psychiatric disorders; and related behavioral and emotional disturbances (ex: paranoia, aggression, hallucinations, delusions, and sundowning).
Indicators of the need for neuropsychological assessment can be abrupt or insidious, such as increased forgetfulness, wandering, disorientation while driving or frequent fender benders, decreased judgment related to money management, and medication noncompliance. Our goal is to help you understand the diagnosis, treatment options, and the level of recommended care, as well as to render an opinion as to a loved one’s capacity to make well-informed decisions, if that is in question.
A doctor’s order is not required for a neuropsychological assessment. Medicare Part B and supplemental insurances cover a neuropsychological assessment every 12 months. Dr. Wilson-Binotti will come to the individual whether at home or in a facility. She schedules assessments during the day, with evenings and weekend hours available as convenient for the family.
