Established on October 14, 2009, Cooper is the most recent in our collection of pubs, joining Kieran’s and The Local in downtown Minneapolis, and The Liffey in downtown St. Paul. Cooper marks our first venture to the “edge of town”.
Our name comes from two very important sources. A cooper is a whiskey barrel-maker, without whose craft we could not enjoy the “water of life”, uisce beatha. Additionally, the much-loved and revered original Cooper Theater stood near our hallowed corner from 1962 to 1991.
Located just south of 394, on the corner of Xenia and Park Place Boulevard in the Shops at West End, Cooper Pub is a light-filled balance of superb craftsmanship: hand-etched glass, carved wood, frescoed ceilings and floors inspired by worn leather. Park underground year-round in the free garage beneath the pub. Visit us for lunch, dinner and happy hour seven days a week, and enjoy brunch until 2 pm on the weekends. Bring a friend. Stay a while.
Our high ceilings ring with the echo of the life of everyman, and the company of the men and the women that know better.
