Done correctly, this a great exercise to build strength in your legs and back. Done incorrectly, and you're likely to get injured. If you're going to deadlift, make sure you go for good form over how much weight you're lifting. Your spine will thank you! #corechiropractic #betterposture #houstonchiropractor

Happy Birthday, Chiropractic!
Please? Cracking your own neck may feel good because you're releasing endorphins. However, it can lead to injury, hypermobility (vertebrae move too much), and is non-specific. When we adjust your spine, we've taken x-rays, know which way your spine needs to go, and we're not just "cracking." We are moving bones with a purpose. If we can get you stop cracking your own neck and let us do it the right way, that feeling that it "needs to crack" will go away. #corechiropractic #betterposture #houstonchiropractor
"The chiropractors are amazing. They break everything down to you using the spine model and provide very good recommendations and suggestions. I’m thoroughly pleased with the outstanding care I’ve received thus far." - Velora T. via Google #CoreChiropractic #HoustonChiropractor
My son noticed a familiar background in a Tik Tok video today...
🍩 🍪 Sugar increases your body's inflammation levels, leading to pain, soreness, and lack of interest in staying active. Yes, they taste great. However, if your goal is to get out of pain, have good posture, and feel good again, the sugar isn't doing you any favors. #corechiropractic #betterposture #houstonchiropractor
"Great Service and Friendly Staff- This team always works to keep you moving with minimal disruption to your daily schedule." - Tan L. via Google #CoreChiropractic #HoustonChiropractor
It sounds so simple, but if you ever used a device that tracks your steps, you'll see how you can get a lot of steps in a day or manage very few. An easy way to increase your steps is to park further away, take the stairs, and look for opportunities to add a few more steps in your day. #corechiropractic #betterposture #houstonchiropractor
"Great Chiropractic Service. Whilst it is my first interaction with an actual chiropractor, they are always working with me and constantly asking me what is wrong to pin point the problems to solve them the most efficiently and cleanly. Definitely recommend!" - Zachary P. via Google #CoreChiropractic #HoustonChiropractor
Keep the weight distributed evenly and your spine will thank you! Strive to keep the weight down in backpacks, but when you do have to wear them, keep it even. Also, avoid wearing them too low, as that will pull down on your shoulders and strain your neck. #corechiropractic #betterposture #houstonchiropractor
"Very polite staff, great hands on work with the doctors and they do a good job answering all your questions. Overall a very positive experience" - Vlad B. via Google #CoreChiropractic #HoustonChiropractor

Some people can tell when it's going to rain because of the aching in the knee. That's scar tissue that's built up over time. It's not uncommon for active people to sustain meniscal tears and/or tears to the the surrounding ligaments and tendons. For people that sit all day, it's likely that the quadriceps muscles have become imbalanced. The muscle is called "Quad"riceps because the muscle has 4 parts. Commonly, the inner thigh will become weaker and cause tracking issues with the knee. Keeping the knees healthy and strong will allow people to keep moving, running, kneeling, and squatting without pain. People with knee issues start to avoid all activities and that's a recipe for bad health. Let's work on getting the knees healthy and strong! The top exercise to strengthen your knees is the Straight Leg Extension exercise (see video below): https://youtu.be/IGqURwGxSwU At our Galleria location, we also have the Knee on Trac decompression chair, which helps to pull and revitalize the knee joint. We combine the therapy with laser to help speed the healing process. Here's a video that shows how it works... https://youtu.be/oP18Td4azAc Try the knee exercise first and see how you do. Your chiropractor can also do adjustments to the knee to help with alignment. Long-term, you need to do exercises to strengthen and stabilize the knee. We have a lot of knee exercises here: Beginner knee exercises: https://www.corechiropractic.net/knee1/ Advanced knee exercises: https://www.corechiropractic.net/knee2/ If any of these exercises cause pain, then stop doing them and talk to your chiropractor. As you start to do the exercises regularly, you should notice that you not only have less pain, but you feel more stable and can walk and run easier. There are many benefits to doing these exercises even if you don’t have pain. Try the exercise out this month. Let your chiropractor know if you have any questions and let him or her know how well you are doing because of them!
TEXAS SUPREME COURT UPDATE: Chiropractic Wins! Last week, the Texas Supreme Court issued its opinion in the case of Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, et al. v. Texas Medical Association (commonly referred to as the “nerve case” within the chiropractic community). The Supreme Court held that the Texas Medical Association’s “challenged rules, read in context, do not exceed the statutory scope of chiropractic practice.” The Court reversed the Third Court of Appeals’ judgment that TBCE’s rules on “musculoskeletal system,” subluxation complex,” and VONT (a specialized chiropractic test) were invalid, and instead rendered them valid. In short, TBCE and TCA won on the issues of TBCE’s definition of “musculoskeletal system,” “subluxation complex,” and performance of VONT by a chiropractor. “This is a landmark day and case for the Texas chiropractic community and indeed the chiropractic community across the globe,” said Dr. Mo Jahadi, President of the Texas Chiropractic Association. “I want to thank every chiropractor in Texas and our friends from across the United States, who helped TCA in this fight. This was a battle that could not have been won without you.”

🦶🦶 Your feet are essential to the foundation of your body and they're an area that are often neglected. Most of the time we don’t have any problems with our feet. They work just fine for us. But, because we use them so much and often abuse our feet, they will fuss at us. Now is the time to do something about it. The type of problems may be sore feet at the end of the day, a pinching or achy feeling or "noisy" feet. These are signs that something is not right! Each foot has three arches that work to support your body. They relax and recoil when walking and running. The inner arch is essential to maintaining a balanced knee and hip. When they start to collapse it affects not only your feet but everything above your feet including your knees, hips, low back, mid back and your neck! How do these arches break down? One, trauma. Two, bad shoes. Three, weak muscles. So the solution is to stop hurting yourself. Go get good shoes. And build up the muscles. How do you pump up the muscles in your feet?! Feet exercises! Exercising the feet muscles is easy. Like anything, a little exercise goes a long way. The muscles in your feet are little and specific movements not only build them up but also the ligaments, tendons and those three arches! The top two exercises to strengthen your feet are Toe Taps and Feet Shortening (links videos below): Foot taps: https://youtu.be/qDW1qnGVFHE Foot shortening: https://youtu.be/VXXs900wiBM When we ask someone to do 12 exercises and it takes up to an hour to do them, they often complain that there are just too many. So, start with these first 2, toe taps and foot shortening. Consistency is key. Do this on a regular basis and you will get the best results. If you have more time, we have a lot more exercises here: Beginner foot exercises: https://www.corechiropractic.net/foot1/ Advanced foot exercises: https://www.corechiropractic.net/foot2/ If any of these exercises cause pain, then stop doing them and talk to your chiropractor. As you start to do the exercises regularly, you should notice that you not only have less pain, but you feel more stable and can walk and run easier. There are many benefits to doing these exercises even if you don’t have pain. Start with these exercises for a month. Let your chiropractor know if you have any questions and let him or her know how well you are doing because of them!
