David S. Parda, M.D., FACP is President and CEO, Allegheny General Hospital, Professor of Radiation Oncology, and System Chair, IRB of Allegheny Health Network (AHN). As past Chair of the Department of Oncology/Cancer Institute, Dr. Parda developed a network of 24 cancer centers including the Academic Cancer Center at AGH. As Chair of the IRB, Dr. Parda is overseeing more than 800 research studies while expanding and integrating clinical trials and technology throughout AHN.
Dr. Parda received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in molecular biology and psychology from Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a residency in radiation oncology at Georgetown University and is board certified in both internal medicine and radiation oncology. Through additional training and experience at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology, Georgetown University's Lombardi Cancer Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and national/international cancer clinical trials groups, Dr. Parda has acquired noted expertise in collaborative multidisciplinary cancer care. He has held many national and regional leadership roles in oncology including design and oversight of NCI cancer clinical trials, member/vice chair/chair of NCI CIRB, vice chair of ASTRO Guidelines committee, past president and board member of Pennsylvania Society of Oncology and Hematology, past board member of American Cancer Society and West Penn Allegheny Health System. In May 2014 a formal collaboration between the AHN Cancer Institute and Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center was formed to advance patient care, education, research, clinical trials, personalized medicine/genomics for cancer patients. Dr. Parda was named President and CEO of Allegheny General Hospital in January 2020.
