Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the state of Arizona, we have decided to once again close our lobby and implement a low-contact "curbside service" appointment style starting Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Please call us from your car once you arrive for your appointment at 480-538-8300. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however, we feel this is necessary to protect everyone's heath and safety during this time. Thank you for understanding!
HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY!!!!! Did you know...that dogs were originally domesticated more than 15,000 years ago! The original domesticated dogs were believed to have provided companionship, workmanship, and protection to early hunter-gatherers all over the globe. Still to this day they provide us with all of those things and more! We hope everyone had the best day celebrating "mans" best friend. "Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." — Roger Caras "A dog will teach you unconditional love. If you can have that in your life, things won’t be too bad." — Robert Wagner
We are excited to introduce our new Practice Manager, Nina! Please join us in welcoming her to the DC Ranch Animal Hospital family. Nina's Bio: I was born in Southern California and moved to Arizona when I was twelve years old. I grew up in a large household with seven children in total; myself being the oldest. Growing up, there wasn't a moment in time we did not have some sort of animal. While my family was fostering a pregnant cat, we had to assist through the birthing process and bottle feed the kittens until they were ready to be switched to solid food. At just five years old I took on the responsibility completely; it was then I discovered my passion to help animals. My first job was at a dog boarding facility where I assisted in the husbandry and grooming needs of all occupants at just sixteen years old. After high school, I went to school for Veterinary Assisting and started a one year internship at the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium in 2010. I have since been practicing as a Veterinary Technician here in Glendale, Arizona for the past nine and a half years. My fiance and I currently share our home with our two fur babies Coach and Minion; a very large dopey dog and a lazy orange tabby. My passion for the animals, clients, and workers of this profession has led me to join this amazing team at DC Ranch Animal Hospital as their new Practice Manager. I am extremely excited for what the future has to hold with this wonderful company!
Dr. Lopez explains #WhyIDoThis? From the first time I can remember as a little girl, the only thing I wanted to do was to care for animals. There is nothing more wonderful than the love of our beloved pets. I get to be a part of that every day. From helping puppies and kittens grow up to assisting an aging dog or cat into its final years and days, every moment is special in its own way. To help people and their pets through the circle of life with their loving dogs and cats is the best job I could ask for. I speak from the heart when I say this truly is the best job in the world. What keeps me motivated? Even on the toughest days, the next appointment of the day could be a goofy Golden Retriever or a curious, loving cat. No matter which, it always reminds me of how wonderful animals are and the chance I have to make their lives comfortable and happy. Nothing is better than walking down our hallway and seeing a wagging tail sticking out under the exam room door. Makes me smile EVERY TIME. What you may not know about us: I graduated in 1999 from veterinary school. From the very first few years of my career, I was a part of DC Ranch Animal Hospital. My husband and I were owners of a small part of this hospital when it first opened. The hospital was sold and has changed hands a number of times since. Last year I had the chance to become the medical director and DVM of DC Ranch Animal Hospital. I feel like my career has come full circle and I'm home again.
