Dental Hygienist tips today from Becca Olson, RDH. The best way to stop having coffee/tea stain on your teeth is:
☕️ Stop drinking coffee... ya, not going to happen!🤣 So, let’s be realistic!
☕️ Don’t finish the dregs of your coffee. The stain in coffee settles to the bottom of your cup.
☕️ Drink a full glass of water before you drink coffee. Then, rinse your mouth out with water after your cup of coffee and/or chew gum. Your teeth are dehydrated in the morning and will soak up whatever moisture it gets first! Rinsing out stain doesn’t allow it to set up. Chewing gum makes spit, the body’s protective way of rinsing away germs and harmful substances.
☕️ Excellent brushing, flossing and any other dental home care aides your hygienist recommend for your personalized dental health care needs. The toothpaste aisle is vast! Please let your hygienist know what products you are using and your dental health concerns. This is literally a dental hygienist job... to guide you to better dental health.
☕️ Find out if you are a candidate for professional whitening to reduce the deep internal tooth stain. Over the counter whitening works, but, it takes forever get decent results. It might surprise you how easy, fast and relatively inexpensive professional whitening costs.

WANTED: DENTAL ASSISTANT
Deadwood Dental is seeking a full-time dental assistant. We are willing to train a motivated person. Preference for an individual with dental assisting experience and a South Dakota radiography license or CDA certification. Experience with Eaglesoft practice management software, Schick and Dexis digital radiography software experience is preferred but not required. Ability to obtain a South Dakota dental radiology license is required. On-the-job training will be provided. Competitive pay depends on experience. Benefits and uniforms are offered.

Monday night, about 45 minutes after sunset (local time), look low toward the southwest horizon to see the long-awaited Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn. This event is a rare close encounter of the solar system’s two largest planets, which hasn't occurred in 800 years.
Jupiter will appear to Saturn’s lower left. Both planets will be close enough to see in the same field of view of a high-power eyepiece. By month’s end, the two planets, having separated to 1.2° apart, will be setting about 1 hour and 45 minutes after sunset, right at the end of evening twilight.

Responsibilities: Take and document patient dental history and updates, as well as overall health and medical history. Assist dentist by handling supplies and instruments as requested. Prepare tables and trays for dentist with necessary instruments and supplies. Clean and sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment rooms as needed. Take dental radiographs. Ensure appropriate supply of equipment and materials. Perform patient charting as instructed by the dentist. Welcome patients and get them situated in the appropriate treatment room. Help Hygienists. Clean Office. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. **We are willing to train the right person** Current CPR certification preferred. Radiology certification preferred, but can obtain at a later date. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Possess a professional and positive attitude. Must be a team player!
