Diego Heredia, MD received his medical degree from Universidad de Cuenca in Ecuador. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital and his pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and Loyola University Medical Center.
Board-certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease and board eligible in critical care medicine, Dr. Heredia performs thoracic ultrasonography, ultrasound-guided thoracentesis, bronchoscopy with endobronchial/transbronchial biopsy, endobroinchial ultrasound, fine needle aspiration and several other procedures. He has been invited to present several research projects at international meetings and has received awards from the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Heredia founded the San Jose Health Center in Ecuador to help an underserved population.
