Don Schaffer, MD was born and raised in Houston, TX. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1973 and completed his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1976. In 1980, he finished his residency at Texas Children's Hospital before going into private practice. Dr. Schaffer is passionate about medicine because he enjoys caring for children and believes it is important to be available to them when they need medical treatment. Dr. Schaffer is currently the Chief of Pediatrics at The Woman's Hospital of Texas and the doctor for the Rice University sports teams. He is also a member of several medical organizations including the American Board of Pediatrics, Texas Medical Society, Harris County Medical Society, and Houston Pediatric Society. In his spare time, Dr. Schaffer likes to go to sporting events and spend time with his four dogs
