Allyson A. Shrikhande, MD, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist. She specializes in treating women with pelvic floor pain or pregnancy-related pain in the hips, back, and sacroiliac joint. Dr. Shrikhande practices at New York Bone and Joint Specialists in New York City.
Dr. Shrikhande launched and leads a program called BabyFit, which is an individualized, insurance-based program to help women prepare for pregnancy and birth. Her medical practice is driven by her own experiences struggling with pain during pregnancy.
Dr. Shrikhande is a fellow of the Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of the New York State Pain Society. She is also a fellow of the International Pelvic Pain Society. Dr. Shrikhande received her undergraduate degree from Boston College and graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland Medical School in Dublin, Ireland. She completed her internship in General Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and her residency at NYU Langone Medical Center/RUSK Institute.
